IIPSA is working to build evidence base and articulate the link between our strategic activity areas and SDGs in context of the countries we operate in.
Our Research Approach
IIPSA’s research Center maintains the highest standards in carrying out rigorous and impartial research, while also following best practices in data confidentiality. To balance IIPSA’s need to keep data confidential with the needs of scholars, the media, and other interested organizations to obtain data SDG, we assess each research request and its goals and intended use carefully. We especially welcome research requests where the findings will be:
- Used to promote scholarly research and expand the knowledge base of sustainable development goals in Africa
- Used by Donors, African governments and overseas development agencies for facilitating sustainable investment in Africa
- Used by the private sector to facilitate student recruitment for employment in the students’ home countries or home regions

Education & Youth: How education affect youth and development.
Humanitarian: How the humanitarian system changes with new tools, donors, and perceptions of local dynamics.
Violent Organization: How violent organizations function in societies, and how they affect peace and development.
Urbanization & Environment: How urbanization, demography, and physical factors condition dynamics of peace, and development in African countries.
Governance & Security: How political institutions and security actors and practices contribute to development.
Energy & Natural Resources: How the resources affect on climate change and development in Africa.
Our major sectors of focus is in African countries alike for their disproportionate impacts / links to all three pillars of green growth – economic growth, environmental protection, and social inclusion. Innovations in these areas are poised to be disruptive and impact the way we produce, consume and satisfy the local population .
